About Fiterati
Fiterati is the creation of journalist Monique Savin, who, in 2005, found herself with more news, advanced notice of deals and wonderfully helpful products than her columns could hold. She developed a new, immediate way to share information while it was still fresh and actionable, with an affluent, influential female audience.
Fiterati publishes a weekly newsletter edition every Monday, which is devoted to delivering five deals and inspiration for busy, hip gotta-know-gals of any ability level, shape or size who are interested in fitness. Fiterati delivers news via it’s blog, which is published through RSS or accessible via the website, on Fridays.
Delivering sweet tidbits to the e-mail in-boxes of those in the know since 2005, Fiterati is the guide to what’s new and what works, to achieve a leaner, stronger body and avoid resorting back to your old routine and lackluster results. With hundreds of subscriptions worldwide, Fiterati is a time-saving, helpful fitness resource that’s upbeat and fun to read.

About Monique Savin
E-mail Monique.
I am a fitness journalist and Web editor from Toronto, Canada.
For three years I have worked as a journalist in national print media, online editorial producer and, since the mid-90s, as a TV presenter. My experience includes reporting at such newsstand stalwarts as The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star’s Healthzone.ca and The Sun, and writing positions at both scruffy dailies and glossies for the upwardly mobile.
As a journalist, host and Web editor, I confess that I inhale and exhale pop-culture fitness trends. Having interviewed A-list stars and Hollywood hotties, talking fitness, food and fashion is effortless for this half-marathoner. I am the national weekly fitness columnist for Sun Media’s 24 Hrs., celebrity fitness reporter for Canoe Live on Sun TV and founder and editor of Fiterati.
In addition to journalism, I appeared as a panelist on W Network’s Style By Jury. Most recently I sassied up four international infomercials as a fitness model for Leg Magic, Leg Magic Pulse , Master Moves and Aussi Abs. I also serve as the fitness consultant for Magee TV. After hours on set exercising with new products, I know which As Seen on TV products are best to equip your home gym, and ones that will only fall apart or end up a clotheshorse.
My role as a journalist and TV presenter offers me many exciting opportunities. I have covered stars from the worlds of entertainment, business, sports and politics, including Will Smith, Mark Wahlberg, Jennifer Garner, Milo Ventimiglia and Oscar winner Jodie Foster to Sofia Milos, LL Cool J, Daniel Craig, Vivica A. Fox and Prince to McDonald’s Canada founder, George Cohon, University of Ottawa President and former Ambassador to the UN, Allan Rock, Roots Co-founder, Michael Budman and Edmonton Oilers centre, Andrew Cogliano. I had the pleasure of two exercise encounters with Oprah. Honoured with a Canadian exclusive, I reported on Muhammad Ali’s G.O.A.T. Food & Beverage Products, which take a jab at defeating young adult obesity. The Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts enlisted me to lead the warm-up at their annual 10-km Terry Fox Run. And in the company of top Olympians and other premiere fitness personalities, I am one of a few experts nation wide hand-picked by Nike.
Personal note:
“Fitness is my religion”, says author Ray Kybartas, and it is for me, too, but I’m not an evangelist. I don’t preach what people should do, nitpick their goals and methods or frown upon anyone’s level of fitness. You’re not going to get an in-your-face trainer here at Fiterati. That’s not where our heads or hearts are at.
Fitness helps me learn how to live beautifully in my body, reduce anxiety and boosts my moods transforming my days in positive expressions of life. I am amazed by all the things I can do with smart training, products and services that help me enjoy a healthy relationship with my body. I love that moment when people say, “I could never… run 5K, cycle 18K, swim for 60-minutes, lose fat, buff my biceps, find that long-cut tank top that hides my bulges and makes feel comfortable so I can actually go to the gym, roller-blade to work, learn to kickbox …. Or could I?”
Fiterati is here to help you discover and deepen your passion for fitness, tone up, trim down, look fit, have fun and connect with amazing people while doing it. Welcome! You’re gonna love access to the exciting and wonderful world of fitness.
